Dirty or Grimy Mirrors and Windows

A simple solution for eating through gunk and grime on windows and mirrors is to use about a 1/3 cup white vinegar and 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol. As an added benefit, you can add about a tablespoon of detergent to help wipe away the lifted grime.

Showers and Bathtubs

Alkaline that builds up on the glass and porous surfaces in your bath in unsightly, so to prevent this rub your favorite car wax over the affected areas. Just be sure to leave it off of the floors or you'll be having a slippery situation. Often times, the car wax should be enough to seal and even out the pores, making cleaning easy and effective. Try to apply about two times a year for best results.

Toilets

Nasty toilet rings? Once again, we are talking about alkaline deposits. Varying hardness in your water can greatly impact the occurrence of those rings, so pour a cup or two of white vinegar into the toilet each month to stop the problem.

Sink Drains

As we previously mentioned, a cup of baking soda and vinegar down the drain does wonders for the smell. For particularly bad odors, try to wait about an an hour before running warm water down the drain.

Faucets

Alkaline deposits are back. Soaking a paper towel with white vinegar and placing it around the faucet. You can also plug the drain and add a 1/2 cup white vinegar in the sink. Depending on the severity of your stains, wait a bit before scrubbing with a nylon brush to rid yourself of those hard water deposits.
