Cleaning Window Screens

Cleaning window screens can be a tough job while left in place, thats why it's recommended to remove all screens prior to cleaning. After removing each screen, label them by writing the screen location on a small piece of masking tape and sticking it to the framing of the screen. This will prevent you from losing track of where each screen goes when reinstalling them. Next, mix one cup of household ammonia, 1 tablespoon of dish detergent and 3 cups of warm water. Pour the mixed solution into any refillable spray bottle and spray each screen thoroughly. Let them soak for 10 minutes while gently scrubbing them with a soft bristled brush. Finish by rinsing with a garden hose and letting the screens air dry before reinstalling.
